Writer and Social Media Coordinator (Job ID94332)

Writer and Social Media Coordinator will contribute to a number of important communications projects, including the Intersections blog and an electronic newsletter to tell student stories and share strategies for navigating the challenges of balancing family life with work and education.

  • Research and write content for all social media, electronic newsletter and blog on a diverse range of family related topics, such as pregnancy, parenting, elder care and work/ life issues.
  • Write and edit web content, tip sheets and other publications.
  • Develop a Social Media presence to increase community engagement and enrollment in programs.
  • Monitor and respond to comments and inquiries directed through various Social Media channels: the Family Care Office Facebook page, Parent Exchange Facebook Group, Twitter account and the Blog. Handle tweets directed at the FCO.
  • Compile and analyze social media data.
  • Help organize and attend family events organized by the Family Care Office.


  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in social media (FB, Twitter, blogs)
  • Demonstrated interest in English, Journalism, creative writing and editing
  • Able to work independently and show initiative
  • Strong decision making ability

In order to apply, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Students must be registered in a 40% course load for the Summer term.
  • Students are permitted to accept ONE Work Study position per program period.
  • Students registered in the Toronto School of Theology are not eligible for Work Study positions.
  • Non-degree students are not eligible for Work Study
  • Students do NOT have to be OSAP eligible to apply for Work Study positions.
